Bonfire of the carnival Princes
In Walloon rural folklore, bonfires remain a practice that is deeply rooted in our traditions.
They are the symbols of purification and the return of the light of spring.
It is with unchanged fervour that the Walloons gather every year around the mound of branches and fir trees on fire.
The party is in full swing until the final bouquet, the flight of the snowman in smoke, heralding the arrival of sunny days.
The carnival Princes will be taking you on a torchlight ride to the bonfire in the car park of the Evêts. The gathering place is at the Place du Bronze at 6:45 pm. The torchlight ride starts at 7 pm. We’ll then cross the Place du Bronze and the pedestrian walkway to music before heading off together to the bonfire. 7:30 pm: lighting of the bonfire by carnival Prince Giggs 1er. 9 pm: ‘Box Office’ concert, sausage rolls, Purnalet, rum and coke, beers,… The evening will take place under a heated marquee. Organised by the comité des Princes carnaval de La Roche
