La Fange aux Mochettes

It is an integral part of the Plateau des Tailles state nature reserve and covers 71.33 ha. It is a remarkable peat bog, one of the last remaining examples of unexploited raised bog in the region. Located in the village of Samrée (La Roche-en-Ardenne), the Fange aux Mochettes is slowly drying out, mainly due to spruce plantations on the outskirts. This site is a pure marvel for nature lovers, with the flora and fauna typical of this type of environment. Arm yourself with your camera and your patience to take some beautiful shots, but beware: traffic on the site is restricted. At the heart of this nature reserve is the ‘Ferme de l’Alu’, with its high-quality accommodation facilities. Label: Exceptional building heritage.
